Program requirements:

PLEASE NOTE THAT AS OF NOVEMBER, 2007 DHSI COURSES WILL FOLLOW THE SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH SCHEDULE.

1. HIPPA training ( GPI, IRR), Research Methods Course, Research Ethics Course and Learning Contract

2. Core Courses: 7 quarters

3. Ancillary: 7 quarters (Enabling + electives) These are biomedical or computing courses that bring students up to a common level of knowledge and skill.

4. Practica: 2 quarters

5. Development of a 3 tiered web site

6. Publishable essay

7. Participation in the weekly informatics Research-in-Progress seminar
see ME 600.803 HSI Research in progress).

8. Attendance of Division meetings (last Friday of every month, 12:15 - 1:30)

MS Essay Guidelines

Fellows have applied for and enrolled in the NLM Rotation for Medical Informatics Trainees program in Bethesda for the second summer. This program effectively extends the training through a third summer.
