Important Information for Speakers
The seminar is a weekly event, with about 20-40 attendees, comprising a mix of students, fellows, faculty and staff. The sessions are informal, usually a powerpoint presentation with interaction with the audience. It is scheduled for 1 hour (12:15 to 1:30). We have a laptop and projector available, but speakers are welcome to bring their own devices.
All invited speakers should fill out a disclosure form and submit an objective before speaking.
The list of necessary documentation follows:
- CV or brief bio (non JHU faculty only)
- The office of CME at JHU (http://www.hopkinscme.net/aboutus.html) requires seminar speakers to complete a RSCSpeakerDisclosure11-05-2008.
- OCME also requires speakers to have a disclosure slide in their presentation. Click here to view samples of DisclosureSlides.
- All speakers should submit an objective prior to the seminar. This objective will be sent to the DHSI seminar mailing list. The OCME issues the following statement about Objectives: “Purpose or objectives of the activity express learning outcomes in terms of physician performance or patient health (i.e. in behavioral terms), and are communicated clearly and consistently to the learner”. Click here for detailed information regarding WritingBetterObjectives.
- PLEASE submit a copy of BOTH the disclosure and objective slides to the division PRIOR to your seminar.
- Signed WEBCAST permission form.
- PLEASE complete and return RSCSpeakerInfo.
Please email the completed documents to: Kwinny@jhmi.edu, or fax them to 410-614-2064 (Attention: Kersti Winny, DHSI).
